Tips to make your fuel last longer

March 18, 2016

The price of running a car is expensive, so were here to give you some helpful tips and tricks for how you can make your fuel last longer. Because lets be honest petrol is expensive and we would rather spend it on other things right?!

1.Sitting in your car with the engine running wastes gas for no reason. If you plan on being still for more than 30 seconds turn your engine off!

2. Ensure that the car air filter is clean. Fuel economy is greatly enhanced with a clean air filter. When an air filter gets clogged it blocks air flow and reduces engine efficacy. So remove the filter and hold it up to check if you can see light through it.

3.Speeding is exhilarating, but hard on your mileage. Slowing down just five miles per hour will reduce your fuel consumption by 7%, slowing 10mph will reduce it to 14%!

4. Darting in and out of traffic might get you there faster, but your gas mileage suffers. Limit the weaving and cut your road rage to a minimum. Smoother, safer driving will help you hold on to more miles per gallon.

5. Extra weight in your car can increase gas consumption.

6. plan ahead, make sure your not doing any extra miles you don't need to and find faster quotes.
